kabir singh box office collection : The latest film of Shahid Kapoor, Kabir Singh is creating quite a buzz after its release date. The romantic drama with earning Rs 20.21 crore on the first day becomes the biggest opener in the career of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Across the country, the movie was released in a total of 3123 screens. The movie Kabir Singh just like the original blockbuster movie Arjun Reddy was unstoppable. The success of the movie is almost unbelievable since it was not released on holiday but surprisingly it came out during the Cricket World Cup. Trade Analyst Tarun Adarsh even mentioned that despite the nerve-racking match between India Vs Afghanistan, the movie manages to score in its first weekend. He even called the film to be ‘unstoppable and unshakeable’.
Kabir Singh on Saturday despite the nerve-wracking match between India Vs Afghanistan had successfully made it to the amount of 22.71 crores and on Sunday there was a further jump with the amount of Rs 25.88. Kabir Singh after 3 days made a total collection of 68.80 crores at the domestic box office with 3123 screens. Presently, Kabir Singh is being considered to be the fourth largest Hindi opener at the box office this year.
It is almost surprising to see how the film even being A rated and staying parallel with the cricket world cup had managed to divert all the audiences to itself. Kabir Singh helmed by Randeep Reddy vanga who had also made the original has managed to flock the audience in front of the theatres just like the original one.
According to the report of the BOI, there is a possibility that after the original number comes in, the film might register itself to be the biggest Sunday figures of 2019 beating Salman Kahn’s recent blockbuster Bharat. However, the film had received quite a lot harsh reviews on the character Kabir Singh played by Shahid Kapoor who seemed to be celebrating toxic masculinity and encouraging poor treatment of women. But there’s no denying that the front of the theatre has been flocked by the audience to watch Kabir Singh. Ananya Bhattacharya, as a reviewer in India Today, has marked the film by giving it 1.5 stars out of 5 and pointed out while she wrote, “Misogyny is not cool. Neither is Kabir Singh.” She wrote further in her review, “Kabir Singh the film is the same film as Arjun Reddy. It is the same story, the same dialogue, the same character, the same. So if you have seen Arjun Reddy, you would know that Shahid Kapoor is merely play-acting, trying to do a Vijay Deverakonda. Shahid tries so hard to be Vijay Deverakonda that Kabir Singh loses himself after the first few scenes. So what did Sandeep Reddy Vanga and this entire cast and crew do with Kabir Singh? That’s a question we don’t yet have an answer to.”
