Race 3 Movie Review: The Salman Khan starrer runs on a doomed plot and lame performances

Race 3 Movie Review: The third installment of the much coveted Race series is here and all the changes does not work in the film’s favor. An below average in almost all aspects the movie disappoints the fans of the thriller genre.

Staring the stalwarts of the industry – Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, and Saqib Saleem the film delves into the lives of a wealthy dysfunctional family in pursuit of power and money.  Race 3 not just saw a change in the lead protagonist but also the director as Remo D’Souza shouldered the movie this time around.

Race 3 Movie Story line

The movie revolves around a wealthy dysfunctional clan led by patriarch Shamsher Singh (Anil Kapoor). In what is a glam take in illegal arms dealing a fictional island Al Shiffah is established as the epicenter of Singh’s business empire.

His children —  played by Saqib Saleem, Daisy Shah and Salman Khan does not form a well knitted family.  The playground for the rich and ruthless has them scheming to kill one another for money.

Race 3 Movie Review

What was supposed to be a giddy bullet-riddled action-adventure with a shocking suspense at every other turn is a mere colossal mess.

You name it and the film has it bad writing, terrible dialogues, lame acting and a pretensions plot. Race 3 is as juvenile as it can get. Remo, unfortunately could not add anything new to the franchise, earlier helmed by Abbas-Mustan; Not even some worth watching dance sequences.

Usually a Salman Khan film can do wonders with his shear star-power and persona. But the immaturity of the writing hasn’t given him much space to work around. Imagine a movie of Salman’s that doesn’t feature even a single noteworthy dialogue.

The only positive we could observe in this deserted place is action sequences spearheaded by Hollywood stunt legend Tom Stuthers. Undoubtedly, visually compelling but as mentioned earlier the story fails to ignite any emotion in the viewer except irritation.

Race 3 Movie Rating

Rating – 1.5/5

To be brutally honest the film is as bad as the lyrics of most of its’ songs. Take a risk of watching Race 3 if you are a motor head who loves to watch cars being blown up (or watch any Rohit Shetty movie instead)
